VLC – VAC Line Controller: Production & Line ControlTransparency for your production Today companies need to produce their products efficiently and with a very high degree of quality. It’s not enough just to automate individual processing stations and machines. The demand for more flexibility with greater productivity can only be ensured if the decentrally controlled systems are integrated into centrally operating production control concepts. Productions lines get their jobs automatically through production planning systems and must be flexibly set for the corresponding products and their recipes.
Modern line controls have to control the production line and its process stations such that high production utilisation and the greatest possible availability is achived. In addition, the machine, product and test data must be fully documented and archived with a high degree of data security. Errors occurring must be quickly detected and analysed by intelligent functions and the necessary instructions for their correction generated.
Different kinds of production lines must be able to be linked through their host computer in order to implement flexible throughput control. VLC – The intelligent head of your production The VAC Line Controller (VLC) is a modular system software for complete line control solutions for your production line. The VLC system can, depending on the desired scope of functions, be expanded from a traceability system to a complete equipment management system. Host computer modules:
The technical advantages The VLC is implemented as a client-server architecture and is based on the VAC NT/32 automation platform with its comprehensive automation functions. The process stations can be connected to the host computer through a wide variety of interfaces by using the existing interface objects (Profibus, CAN-Bus, Industrial Ethernet, RS 232, etc.) of the VAC NT/32. To integrate project-specific functionalities, all objects and functions of the VAC NT/32 are available, thus enabling efficient expansion and adapting of the visualisation functions and process interfaces. |
